I think this bill introduced in California should speak for itself. If you're not scared yet, then think about how easy it is to program a palm pilot to open garage doors, unlock car alarms, and do just about anything else that requires an infrared beam. If this thing is laser activated, wouldn't duct tape "accidentally" placed over the transmitter solve the problem?
