Ever have one of those days where you are convinced technology is out to make your life difficult? I got so fed up today with Outlook and Office that I just gave up. I grabbed the StarOffice 5.2 beta last night. it is beta software. A bit slow, but 90% functional. The coolest part is that you can have both StarOffice 5.1 and 5.2Beta installed on the same machine, and they don't overwrite DLLs and other dumb things like that. Mianly because the "system" files Microsoft likes to have written all over the place are all stored within the Office51 and Office52 directories. It's nice to know that at least some company out there dislikes MS so much that they do an intelligent installation.

Ever been to website created with a Microsoft product and noticed all the stupid control and misplaced question marks all over it? Welcome to the "Microsoft" standard ISO-8859 character set. I found demoroniser while browsing around. It does as its name suggests, removes the moronic character set encoding from MS.

Now that I've finished Soldier of Fortune, I decided to go online and do some multi-player. Well, you're forced to sign up with won.net, which is dumb. As nothing you do has anything to do with won.net, especially if you're going to play on a server 1 hop away. Duh. So, I'm not going to bother with SoF online. UT is still the fav for now.
