Living without credit, mostly

At some point two years ago, I took a hard look at my financial state
and decided to cull lots of 'needful things'. The biggest one was the
credit cards. It took two years to pay them off in full. As of today,
all past debts are paid. For the past two years, I've been living
without a credit card. There are drawbacks, as any big purchase
requires planning in advance, in some cases, months in advance.

However, I find that overall, I have more money. I save more. I spend
less overall. I'm cash-flow positive. Now to build up a savings reserve
that matches those of other cultures, like China's 37%.
