Washington, DC. As a tourist this time

I typically travel to Washington DC for work. Most of my schedule is
booked to meetings with foundations, think tanks, congressional figures,
and government agencies. I never get a chance to actually play the role
of a tourist and see the city from a different angle. I have three days
mostly free from work, so I've been playing tourist with the family
while working nights.

The national monuments at night are far better than they are in the day.
The lighting is better, the crowds are less, and the temperature is
cooler.
