IPv6 Mobile Broadband > Hardwired?

A mobile hotspot is a more reliable provider of IPv6 than the hardwired gigabit connection to my flat. ICMP is generally relegated to lowest class of service by ISPs, if not dropped during congestion. However, when nothing IPv6 works, such as http, ssh, dns, etc, then ping is a good test.

Hardwired gigabit connection:

6641 packets transmitted, 1085 packets received, 83.7% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max/std-dev = 12.636/24.153/1014.143/58.804 ms

Mobile broadband connection:

1898 packets transmitted, 1897 packets received, 0.1% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max/std-dev = 157.258/355.544/1011.975/222.356 ms

And httping from the mobile broadband connection:

347 connects, 347 ok, 0.00% failed, time 566478ms
round-trip min/avg/max = 313.9/630.3/1944.3 ms

The mobile latency is horrible, but bearable. All of them are to the same IPv6 address of this blog.
